Finding the Password of Your Current Wi-Fi Network Made Easy
Introduction
Have you ever found yourself needing to connect a new device to your Wi-Fi network but couldn't remember the password? Don't worry, you're not alone. In this article, we'll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to find the password of your currently connected network using your iPhone or other iOS device.
Step 1: Open the Settings App
Start by opening the Settings app on your iPhone from the home screen or app dock.
Step 2: Tap on "Wi-Fi"
In the Settings menu, tap on the "Wi-Fi" option to access your Wi-Fi settings.
Step 3: Locate the Connected Network
The Wi-Fi settings will display a list of Wi-Fi networks available or in range. Locate the network name of the Wi-Fi network you are currently connected to and tap on it.
Step 4: View the Network Details
When you tap on the connected network, you will see the network details, including the network name, security type, and signal strength. Tap on the "i" icon in the top-right corner to view more details.
Step 5: Reveal the Password
On the detailed view of the Wi-Fi network, you will find a line that says "Password." However, the password will be hidden by default for security reasons. To reveal the password, you will need to authenticate using your device's passcode or Face ID.
Once you have authenticated, the password will be displayed in plaintext in the "Password" field. You can now use this password to connect other devices to your Wi-Fi network.
Additional Notes
Remember that changing your Wi-Fi password is a good security measure to prevent unauthorized access to your network. If you have forgotten your saved passwords for other Wi-Fi networks, you can use a third-party tool, such as a password manager, to retrieve them from your iCloud Keychain.
Please note that this method only works for iOS devices that are currently connected to the Wi-Fi network. If you are not connected, you will not be able to retrieve the password using this method.
