Wireless Connectivity Options for Sony TVs

Wi-Fi Direct

Wi-Fi Direct allows you to wirelessly connect a device to your Sony TV without using a wireless router. This is ideal for streaming videos, photos, and other content from your phone, tablet, or laptop directly to your TV.

Using Wi-Fi Direct

1. Make sure your Sony TV and the device you want to connect are both turned on.
2. On your TV, go to the Settings menu.
3. Select Network & Internet.
4. Select Wi-Fi Direct.
5. On your device, go to the Settings menu.
6. Select Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
7. Select Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth.
8. Select your Sony TV from the list of available devices.

In addition to Wi-Fi Direct, Sony TVs also offer the following wireless connectivity options:

BLU-RAY Disc DVD Players

You can connect a BLU-RAY Disc or DVD player to your Sony TV wirelessly using a Wi-Fi Direct connection. This allows you to stream movies, TV shows, and other content from your player to your TV without the need for a wired connection.

Casting

Casting allows you to wirelessly display phone and tablet content on your Sony TV. This includes streaming videos, photos, and music. To cast content from your device to your TV, you will need to use a compatible casting app. Some popular casting apps include Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and Amazon Fire TV Stick.

To cast content from your device to your Sony TV:

1. Make sure your Sony TV and the device you want to cast from are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. On your device, open the casting app.
3. Select the device you want to cast to.
4. Start playing the content you want to cast.

AirPlay Screen Mirroring

AirPlay screen mirroring allows you to wirelessly mirror the screen of your Apple device to your Sony TV. This allows you to share photos, videos, and other content from your Apple device on your TV. To use AirPlay screen mirroring, you will need to have an Apple device that is running iOS 12 or later and a Sony TV that is running Android TV 8.0 or later.

To use AirPlay screen mirroring:

1. Make sure your Apple device and your Sony TV are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. On your Apple device, swipe down from the top of the screen to open Control Center.
3. Tap the AirPlay icon.
4. Select your Sony TV from the list of available devices.
5. Start mirroring your Apple device's screen to your TV.
