Australian sensation Alex de Minaur has pulled off a stunning upset, defeating world number five Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to reach his first ATP Masters 1000 semi-final at the National Bank Open in Montreal.

The 23-year-old de Minaur dominated the match from start to finish, showcasing his trademark aggressive style and relentless court coverage. De Minaur broke Medvedev's serve four times and saved six of seven break points faced.

"I'm over the moon," said de Minaur after the match. "Daniil is one of the best players in the world, so to beat him on this stage is a dream come true."

De Minaur will now face off against Hubert Hurkacz in the semi-finals. The Polish star upset top seed Rafael Nadal in the previous round.
